Marguerite McDonald, FACS, is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at NYU Langone Medical Center and an adjunct clinical professor of ophthalmology at Tulane University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She is also a cornea/anterior segment/refractive surgery specialist with the Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island in New York.

McDonald has written more than 1,200 scientific publications. She performed the world's first laser vision correction procedure in 1988 in New Orleans. She was the first female president of both the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (2002-2003) and the International Society of Refractive Surgery (2008-2010).
